With the next-generation iPhone 6 just around the corner, it’s not uncommon to see leaks becoming more abundant, especially in the Far East, where these devices get assembled by Apple’s partners.

The latest such leak has Jimmy Lin’s signature on it. A singer, actor and professional race car driver of Taiwanese descent, Lin is known to be well connected to Apple’s suppliers, having obtained unconfirmed devices more than once in the past.

His latest gig is a selfie with Lin holding two iPhones in his hand, one the current-generation iPhone 5s (we presume), the other a purported iPhone 6 that appears to be fully assembled and ready for use.

A second image (displayed further below) shows the phone in greater detail, featuring all the rumored design particularities, and even a fully assembled camera module.

The LED flash is notably yellow (probably Apple’s second-generation True Tone flash), and there’s a protuberant metal ring surrounding the iSight camera, as indicated in previous leaks.

To be clear, we cannot be 100% sure that Lin is holding an actual iPhone in his hands. Despite the high level of detail and fine craftsmanship we’re witnessing, the handset is not shown face up, so we cannot be sure if there are any electronics inside, or iOS installed on it.s

Such case leaks are so abundant these days that virtually anyone can get their hands on one and use clever image manipulation tricks to make it look like the finished product.

One could also take existing camera parts from the iPod touch and place them inside the chassis to make it look like a finished iPhone 6. In fact, the very least possibility is that the handset is actually a genuine, fully assembled, ready-to-go iPhone 6.

With the Worldwide Developers Conference now out of everyone’s hair, all eyes are on the August-September timeframe, when Apple is rumored to announce a special event for the iPhone 6 unveiling.

Rumor has it that the Cupertino behemoth has not one, but two iPhone 6 models prepared for launch this year. One version reportedly has a 4.7-inch display, the other a 5.5-inch display in what would mark Apple’s entry in the phablet business.

Other new features reportedly include NFC connectivity and wireless charging, but this is also just hearsay from the supply chain. Finally, Apple is said to have discussed a potential price increase with the carriers. The iPhone 6 could end up being priced at $299 / €299 with a two-year wireless contract.
