Japanese mobile phone maker Sony Mobile has been long rumored to plan the release of a mini version of its Xperia Z1 smartphone, and some more info on the handset’s specs is now available.

The phone hasn’t been officially confirmed as of now, but a leaked document that emerged over at XperiaBlog shows it as en route to Japanese wireless carrier NTT Docomo, where it should feature the name of Sony Xperia Z1 f (SO-02F).

Said file shows the handset’s hardware specs being compared to those of Xperia Z1, which will land at the carrier as (SO-01F).

Of course, there is the possibility that the leaked brochure is actually fake, but some of the specs listed there match what was rumored for the smartphone before, and there is a chance that all will become official.

The leaked document also shows that the upcoming mobile phone will be launched in more color versions when compared to the Xperia Z1, including black, white, pink, and yellow.

As for the actual hardware specs, the brochure shows the Xperia Z1 f (aka Honami mini) with a 4.3-inch 720 x 1280 pixels touchscreen display, as well as with a 2.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor packed inside.

Furthermore, the handset should arrive on the market with 2GB of RAM, as well as with 16GB of internal memory. The yet unannounced smartphone is also expected to arrive on the market with a 2300mAh battery inside.

The same as Xperia Z1, the mini version will feature a 20.7-megapixel camera on the back, complemented by a 2MP front camera to allow users to make video calls while on the go. It should also feature the connectivity capabilities of the already announced flagship smartphone.

Xperia Z1 f (which might be launched in other markets as Xperia Z1 mini) measures 127 x 64.9 x 9.4mm and lands on shelves with IP55/IP58 certification for dust and water resistance. It runs under Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, the same as its bigger brother.
