Full Specs of Samsung’s Galaxy Chat Now Available

On Wednesday, South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung made official a new member of the Galaxy family, the QWERTY slider Galaxy Chat.

The new device, previously leaked as GT-B5330, will arrive on shelves with the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system on board, and should prove a great option for those looking for a messaging device.

Following the official unveiling, the full specifications list for the mobile phone is available for your viewing pleasure, enabling us to make a better idea of what the handset has to offer.

Samsung Galaxy Chat will arrive on shelves with a 3-inch touchscreen display, which should be able to deliver a QVGA (240 x 320 pixel) resolution, along with an 850MHz application processor.

On the back, the new device sports a 2-megapixel photo snapper, with video recording capabilities. It also features video playback.

Samsung has packed the new mobile phone with support for HSDPA 7.2 connectivity, as well as with HSUPA 5.76, WiFi, USB 2.0 and Bluetooth 3.0 capabilities.

Samsung Galaxy Chat features 4GB of internal memory, and also allows users to expand the available storage through the addition of MicroSD memory card slots of up to 32GB.

The handset measures 59.3 x 118.9 x 11.7 mm and weighs 112 grams. It is powered by a 1,200 mAh battery capable of delivering up to 880 minutes of talk time on 2G, and up to 520 hours of standby time.

The new device can deliver entertainment capabilities as well, including music and video playback, as well as access to FM radio stations, and sports a 3.5mm headphone jack.

As expected, it will also feature a series of pre-loaded applications and services from Samsung and third-parties, including ChatON, the TouchWiz UI, Swype, Quick Office, and document viewer. It also sports a customizable favorites tray, Game Hub, Allshare Play, S Planner app and more.

Various Google services have been preloaded on the smartphone as well, including Google Search, Maps, Gmail, Latitude, YouTube, Google Play, and the like.

Overall, the Samsung Galaxy Chat should prove a great option for budget-conscious users, being able to provide them with a wide range of features and capabilities in an affordable design.
