14 DAY TRIAL // South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung Electronics has been rumored not long ago to plan the launch of a new smartphone in the Galaxy Grand series, and some more info on it is now available.
Supposedly called Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo, the upcoming handset has leaked online once again, and the full list of specifications it will arrive with has been unveiled.
Apparently, the phone will sit right between the Galaxy Grand and the newly unveiled Galaxy Grand 2, at least in terms of specs. Hopefully, Samsung will have it priced accordingly as well.
The upcoming device will pack a 5-inch TFT touchscreen display capable of delivering an 800 x 480 pixels resolution, clearly showing that it will be targeted at the entry- or mid-level of the market.
Furthermore, the 5-megapixel camera with LED flash placed on its back confirms the fact that it will be far from aimed at the high-end market. A VGA front camera will also be included.
According to info that emerged over at GSMArena, Samsung will pack the upcoming Galaxy Grand Neo only with a 1.2GHz quad-core A7 processor and with 1GB of RAM.
Moreover, the upcoming device will sport 8GB of internal memory, along with a microSD memory card slot for expansion purposes. The usual connectivity options will also be available, including HSPA+ (21Mbps down, 5.76Mbps up), Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi Direct, and micro USB.
No LTE capabilities will be included in the smartphone, but a GPS receiver will be available. The phone will be powered by a 2100mAh battery and will measure 143.7 x 77.1 x 9.6mm.
Samsung is expected to launch the new device with the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system loaded on top right from the start, and it might have it priced at around €299 ($407) after tax in Europe.
