Soon, Verizon Wireless should make available on its airwaves a new Android-powered device coming from Motorola, none other than the already rumored Motorola DROID 4.

The handset was spotted into the wild a few times before, and its full specs list has just been confirmed again, via rootzwiki.

The handset will arrive on shelves with the same looks as the DROID RAZR, but will sport a sliding QWERTY keyboard, meant to offer increased usability when it comes to typing.

Other than that, we should see it hitting shelves with a display a bit smaller than the one available with the RAZR, being only 4.0-inches large, though capable of delivering a qHD resolution.

Moreover, the new device should include a 1.2GHz application processor inside, a dual-core chip that is complemented by 1GB or RAM, for increased performance capabilities.

On the back, the new device will sport an 8-megapixel photo snapper with support for 1080p video capture (it also features image stabilization), complemented by a front camera, great for video calling.

When made available for purchase, the new device will offer support for the wireless carrier’s LTE network, as well as WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity capabilities.

The specifications list of the new device also includes 1080p mirror mode for HDMI mirroring to HD TVs, along with Mini-USB and HDMI connections.

Motorola DROID 4 should arrive on shelves with a 1785mAh battery inside, and will offer compatibility with Motorola’s Lapdocks. The smartphone runs under Android Gingerbread.

The one thing that was not unveiled on this device for the time being is the day when Verizon makes it available for purchase.

However, rumor has it that Big Red might plan on making it available before the end of the ongoing year. The wireless carrier has not made an official announcement on it for the time being, but it might make the move soon, so keep an eye on this space for additional details on the matter.
