HTC has been long rumored to plan the launch of a new so-called Facebook phone, and some more info on the matter has emerged now.

The device, said to sport the name of Myst and previously spotted online as HTC Opera, should land on shelves as part of a collaboration between HTC, Facebook and AT&T, a recent article on UnwiredView reads.

The three have launched other similar devices in the past, such as the HTC Status, and might plan on making the move once again with Myst.

However, the smartphone won’t be a bank breaker when launched, as it is said to sport only a 1.5GHz dual-core MSM8960 processor inside, and to pair it with 1GB of RAM.

Furthermore, the smartphone might pack 16GB of internal memory, without offering users the possibility to further expand it through the addition of microSD memory cards.

The specs list of the upcoming device is also said to include a 4.3-inch 720p touchscreen, capable of delivering a 320ppi pixel density.

On the back, it should pack a 5-megapixel photo snapper, most probably with support for full HD video recording, complemented by a 1.6MP front camera for making video calls.

What remains to be seen is whether HTC will choose to pack inside this new device the UltraPixel technology introduced in HTC One.

Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, 4G LTE connectivity and HSDPA would round up this smartphone’s currently known specs list. Further details on the device should emerge closer to its launch date, which is said to have been set sometime this spring.

However, no specific info on when the new Facebook smartphone will become available for purchase has been provided as of now, or on the price tag that it might sport when made available in the United States. Hopefully, it won’t be long before such details are unveiled, so stay tuned.
