Next week, Google will kick off its annual Google I/O conference, where it might unveil a successor for last year’s Nexus 7 tablet PC, rumor has it.
No official confirmation on the matter has been provided as of now, but a recent report appears to provide specific info on the full hardware specifications of the device.
Coming from KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the report claims that Google’s new tablet PC will hit the market with a 7-inch touchscreen display capable of delivering a 1920 x 1200 pixels resolution, along with a quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor.
Furthermore, the upcoming device is said to pack a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back, along with an HD front camera for making video calls, a recent article on AppleInsider reads.
Coming from ASUS, the same as the original Nexus 7, the new device will also sport Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity capabilities, NFC, wireless charging features, and a plastic casing.
Additionally, the report claims that Google and ASUS are set to pack a 4000mAh battery inside the new tablet PC, while loading the Android 4.3 Jelly bean platform on top of it.
This OS flavor has made headlines quite a few times before, as it was spotted running on various already existing devices, but no official confirmation on its existence has been provided as of now.
The possible launch of a second Nexus 7 tablet PC is only a rumor for the time being as well, though it seems that it is very likely to pan out.
Said analyst also claims that the slate will be launched with a sub-$200 (153 Euro) price tag attached to it, the same as the original device.
However, we’ll have to wait for a formal announcement on this to be made to learn more on the matter. Hopefully, next week will bring all the necessary details on this device, so stay tuned.
