Canadian mobile phone maker Research In Motion is expected to refresh its BlackBerry lineup with some appealing devices during the ongoing year, and the BlackBerry Touch should be one of them.

The handset is reportedly headed to the market in two different flavors, one of which would be fit for CDMA networks, while the other would be a GSM device.

The CDMA flavor would be codenamed Monaco Touch, featuring model number 9850, while the GSM device would arrive as model number 9860, being codenamed BlackBerry Monza Touch.

The full specifications list of this mobile phone made it into the wild, while emerged with the FCC ID L6ARDP70UW, suggesting that it might not be too long before it receives the necessary approvals.

The same as other new BlackBerry devices that made it to the headlines recently, the new BlackBerry Touch Monza is expected to pack a 1.2GHz application processor inside, documents available courtesy of n4bb show.

The mobile phone would also be launched with a 3.7-inch TFT LCD touchscreen display that can boast a 800 x 480 pixels (WVGA) resolution, and support for over 16 million colors.

On the back, the new device would sport a 5-megapixel photo snapper, with auto focus, flash and HD 720p video recording capabilities.

The specifications list of this device also includes support for HSDPA 14.4MBps speeds, along with WiFi and Bluetooth, as well as USB, 3.5mm headphone jack, and GPS receiver.

BlackBerry Touch (Monza) was packed with 768MB of RAM, complemented by 4GB of internal memory, and a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space.

The smartphone would arrive on shelves with a 1,230 mAh battery inside, while measuring 120 x 62 x 11.5 mm and weighing in at around 135 grams.

The smartphone should run under RIM's new BlackBerry OS 6.1, and is expected to become official in May during the BlackBerry World. No info on when it might land on the market emerged, but its sibling, the Monaco Touch was said to arrive in summer, and the launch dates might coincide.
