A new trend is noticeable in scripted programming: the revival / reboot of classic TV shows. Fans are already hyped for the release of a rebooted “Twin Peaks” and a revived “The X-Files,” but the trend includes sitcoms as well.

“Full House” is coming back to the small screen, 20 years after it ended its very successful 8-season run on ABC. TV Line describes it as a revival, not a reboot, that will focus on the grown-up D.J. Tanner and Kimmy Gibbler, played by Candace Cameron Bure and Andrea Barber.

Netflix will carry the series and is on the verge of making the official announcement, reports in the press suggest.

The revival will include 13 new episodes and will be delivered under the name “Fuller House.” Leading men Bob Saget, John Stamos and Dave Coulier are said to be in negotiations for cameos. Stamos will also act as producer.

The creative staff behind the original is also on board the revival show, TV line informs: Jeff Franklin will serve as show creator and executive producer, with Robert L. Boyett and Thomas L. Miller assisting him in exec-producing duties.

The report doesn’t mention anything about a possible air date, but considering the project hasn’t even been confirmed yet, the most reasonable date for the premiere would be early 2016.
