Keep only the essential. And the fashionable.

There are luxury watches and there are the casual ones; elegant or sporty. And then there are the wacky ones, like the (sometimes) insane wristwatches created by Tokyoflash. Now, have you ever asked yourselves how a watch combining all of the above would look like? Whether or not you did, here's one of the niftiest answers to such a question: like the M60M watch from Roger Kellenberger.

By far unconventional and fashionable as fashion itself, the M60M is nothing like what we’ve seen around so far.

But if unconventional and utterly elegant is what you seek, then the Roger Kellenberger M60M is the perfect choice. It's true, not often do you get to see a watch whose most important part – the clockwork – is missing completely; "completely" as in "a big hole in the middle of the watch to put your finger through."

Built from a nifty combination of steel and rubber, 100% recyclable (thumbs up from me), the M60M sports a very slim profile that simply goes with anything; even more, Roger Kellenberger has managed to design a very nice bracelet-closing system, which is as safe and good-looking as it is innovative and easy to use. Just press a small button and the bracelet opens, so you can take the watch off; clasp the bracelet as tight as you like and it will remain securely locked with no other actions needed.

Now, what's so interesting about this "all-hole" watch, you might ask. Well, mainly it's the new method to tell the time. The manufacturer has succeeded in eliminating all unnecessary elements in this simple act of time-telling and is now offering a new solution based on concentric dials displaying the time in terms of full hours and full quarters only. Exactly: no minutes or seconds, no Greenwich-grade precision, just a very easy to read ring-like dial, looking daringly elegant and almost challenging.

The clock mechanism is hidden in the very ring and it rotates a marked spot around the fixed dial, allowing you to tell the time with enough precision so that you won’t miss the train or plane. As Roger Kellenberger himself tells us, the M60M aims for "reduction to the very essential": "optimizations, information flooding and show-off features - the M60M refuses this movement visually and conceptually."

Unfortunately Roger says absolutely nothing on availability or pricing and all that's left for us to do for the moment is admire his sparkling M60M wristwatch and hope it will be on a shelf one day soon.

We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there. That's why we thought it would be a good idea to create an email address for you to help us a little in finding gadgets we missed. Interesting links are bound to be posted with recognition going mainly to those who submit. The address is .
