Kellan Lutz doesn’t quite cut it as a leading man, no matter how much he tries

Late last week, Kellan Lutz of the “Twilight” fame teased fans with the promise of the first “Hercules: The Legend Begins” trailer in a matter of days. Well, now that it’s here I’m not sure how many of you will actually be happy about it.

Check it out in full above.

Playing like a most unfortunate mix of “Gladiator” and “300” and Starz’s “Spartacus,” this trailer makes “Hercules” look like a laughable attempt to bank on a trend in cinema that’s already past its prime.

We know better than to judge a movie by its trailer (both negatively and positively), but I for one can’t find one redeeming thing about the preview above.

Not even the sight of so many manly men ready to fight each other to the death can compensate for the fact that I can spot their fake beards without even trying too hard, or that they’re wearing more makeup than Dolly Parton (no offense to that amazing lady).

“Hercules: The Legend Begins” will be out in March 2014. After seeing the trailer, do you plan on seeing it in theaters?
