With the flux of new hardware products apparently going back to normal, even though tablets still take up half the media's attention, AOC figured this was a good time for it to launch a Full HD monitor of the fairly affordable variety.

AOC is one of those companies that have been doing what they do for years, making a bigger name for themselves with every new monitor.

Of course, there really isn't any shortage of monitors on today's market, but IT companies keep releasing new ones anyway.

One reason is the fact that the consumer market has always been most susceptible to those items that are fresh out of the factory, since they are most likely to incorporate the newest advancements and whatnot.

That said, AOC issued a press release in which it formally announced the existence of the e2239FwT, a liquid crystal display of 22 inches.

It features a response time of 5ms, a dynamic contrast ratio (DCR) or 10,000,000:1 and an aspect ratio of 16:9.

Speaking of visuals, the panel's native resolution is 1,920 x 1,080 pixels (at 60 Hz), meaning that media all the way up to Full HD (1,080p) quality will play smoothly on it.

AOC went ahead and threw in a pair of HDMI ports (mounted on the side), along with the same number of USB 2.0 connectors and a built-in SRS speaker bar.

Finally, 16.7 million colors are supported, HDCP support is present and shipments should have already started to be carried out, for $299.

“The multi-touch feature of the new Touch Monitor is ideal for software applications that benefit from control via simple hand gestures, like gaming, education, entertainment and photo management,” said Robert Velez, AOC Marketing Manager.

“The Touch Monitor also creates a ‘big-screen’ experience for netbook owners who want to watch movies and view photos in Full High Definition.”
