When I think of Fujitsu, I think of innovation. After all, they will soon be the first company to introduce palm-vein authentication technology in tablets.

But that’s not all the device-maker is working on. Fujitsu plans to bring the future to you, by building a tablet capable of providing a realistic haptic touch experiences, says Tweakers.

What does that mean? Well, imagine when shopping online for a new dress, you’ll actually be able to feel the texture of the material the clothing item is made of, while you browse. Or you might be looking at pictures of kittens and feel their soft fur and precious whiskers.

Fujitsu says it’s hoping to bring such a tablet out by 2015, but in the meanwhile, they are going to produce a demo here on the grounds at MWC 2014. Realistic haptic touch experience will be possible by virtue of an ultrasonic system that changes the friction normally happening between finger and the glass.

The demo in Barcelona will include allowing users to play a Japanese Harp by virtually touching and plucking the string, spinning the dial of a combination lock and touching the skin of an alligator. Brrr, scary!
