With the Windows 7 launch just around the corner, PC vendors are gearing up to provide customers with an updated product portfolio that can deliver a full Windows 7 experience. As you might have read over the last few months, one of the main features that will be enabled on Microsoft's upcoming operating system is the support it will bring for multi-touch interface. On that note, several PC vendors are expected to announce new products, or updated options for their current lines of PCs, that can support said feature.
Fujitsu is certainly one of these vendors, as the company has just announced that it will enable a 'touch' input for its flagship LifeBook T5010 convertible tablet PC.

“The LifeBook T5010 convertible tablet PC represents our initial offering in a line of dual digitizer convertibles that take advantage of the advanced capabilities of the anticipated Windows 7 operating system. The benefit of touch is that it’s intuitive and practical. Consumers, mobile professionals and students will immediately see the value and convenience it adds to the computing experience,” said Paul Moore, senior director of mobile product management, Fujitsu America.

Boasting a 13.3-inch display and powered by Intel's line of Core 2 Duo mobile processors, Fujitsu's LifeBook T5010 convertible tablet PC is now available with a two-finger touch sensitivity option that is said to increase the number of reasons why PC users will choose the company's flagship model. The new input feature will support pinch-zoom, rotate and other two-finger gestures that will be available in the much-anticipated Windows 7 operating system. In addition, the tablet continues to support the pen-input interface.

Coming with a starting price tag of US$1,859, the convertible touchscreen laptop from Fujitsu also boasts a built-in webcam and dual microphone array, spill-resistant keyboard, integrated 3G mobile broadband (from AT&T or Verizon), fingerprint reader, smartcard slot and an optional secondary battery pack.
