The market for ultraportable computer systems continues to expand, as leading PC vendors roll out new products that come to provide users with alternatives to some of the already available laptops. On that note, Fujitsu has just announced the introduction of its new LIFEBOOK P8110, coming as a 12.1-inch notebook that integrates Intel's latest CULV processors. Among a number of interesting features, the P8110 promises to provide its users with as much as seven hours of battery life on a single charge, a noteworthy feature for those who are looking for a system that they can rely on when on the road.

The new laptop will try to impress potential customers with a glossy or matte black magnesium lid, as well as a number of features that make it ready to be taken on the road. The system has been featured with Intel's Core 2 Duo SU9600 processor, clocked at 1.6GHz and combined with 4GB of RAM. An optional 128GB SSD is available as a choice, providing users with faster boot times, but also a longer-lasting battery life.

The 12.1-inch WXGA LED display is most likely powered by an Intel integrated graphics chip and is also available with an optional privacy screen. Additional features include a fingerprint reader, optional TPM module and smartcard reader, all of which should benefit professional users since they are usually available on business laptops. The laptop also comes with HDMI, three USB 2.0 ports, Gigabit Ethernet connector, VGA and the usual audio in/out ports. A memory card reader is also available, alongside a DVD drive, dual-microphone array and a 2MP webcam.

Unfortunately, the company hasn't detailed the laptop's pricing at this time, but the new LIFEBOOK P8110 notebook system is expected to become available in Europe, the Middle East and Asia starting today.
