Sick of Apple and Samsung tablets stealing all the spotlight? Want some change in your life? We bring you news of an impressive tablet that was unveiled by Fujitsu not so long ago.

Now the Japanese manufacturer is finally bringing it to the US and making it available for purchase. And the Stylistic Q584 is definitely something worth taking a minute or two to look into.

Fujitsu is known for releasing some products that sport interesting sets of feats meant to minimize chances of damage. Take for example the company's IS12T Windows Phone, which is a waterproof handset.

The Stylistic tablet is waterproof too, so customers won’t have to worry if they are watching a video next to the pool and their friends jump in the water splashing them from head to toe.

What else does the tablet bring in terms of specifications, you might wonder. Well, the Stylistic features a nice 10.1-inch screen with an impressive 2560 x 1600 pixel resolution, probably capable of delivering beautiful images and video.

More than that, Fujitsu seems to be an adopter of the latest Intel chip architecture, as the tablet is powered by a Bay Trail Atom processor coupled with 4GB of RAM. Internal storage options range between a lofty 64GB and a 128GB SSD.

The slate should be very easy to be carried around as it weighs just 640 g / 1.41 lbs. Fujitsu has slipped in a 32Wh battery under the hood and that’s said to provide up to 11 hours of life juice.

The tablet can be customized in order to fit your needs. For instance, there’s the option of pre-loading it with Microsoft Office Home & Business 2013 or to add a keyboard cover/docking cradle, but you’ll have to pay extra.

The base configuration for the Stylistic Q584 will set you back with about $879 / €640 (making it slightly more expensive than the iPad) while the dock will entail another extra $59 / €43.
