A compact Android tablet for the enterprise market

Fujitsu isn’t that big of a name in the mobile space, but the Japanese company is looking to change that in the near future with the introduction of a new tablet, called the Stylistic M350/CA2, which is targeting business users.

Design wise, Fujitsu’s new tablet looks pretty much the same as some other enterprise-oriented slates the company previously released, except for the inclusion of a series of hardware buttons placed along its bottom edge.

However, on the inside things are a lot different as the Stylistic M350/CA2 is based on a Freescale i.MX ARM SoC as that includes a single Cortex A8 core running at 1GHz.

As Uber Gizmo has revealed, the SoC is paired together with 512MB high speed DDR3 and supports Flash 11, and 1080p video playback either on the tablet’s screen or on an external display that can be connected via the provided mini-HDMI connector.

All of these are powered by a 20Wh battery which Fujitsu says it can deliver “excellent battery life,” although no estimate regarding the running time of the Stylistic M350/CA2was given.

Weight wise, the 14mm (0.55-inches) thin 7-inch Fujitsu tablet tips the scale at only 420g (a little less than 0.93 pounds).

As far as software is concerned, Uber Gizmo said that the Stylistic M350/CA2 tablet will actually run the 2.3 version of Google’s mobile operating system, even though this OS isn’t just as well suited for such devices as Android 3.2, aka Honeycomb, or the more recent Android 4.0 ICS.

The Stylistic M350/CA2 will be initially available in Japan for a price of ¥34,800 (about $454 or 345 EUR), but so Far Fujitsu hasn’t mentioned whether they have any plans to sell this tablet in other markets.
