Just recently, Fujitsu-Siemens, in collaboration with the Santa Clara, California-based graphics chip maker NVIDIA, has announced the debut of a new desktop computer system designed specifically to meet the computing requirements of everyday home users. The system combines an Intel Pentium dual-core processor and an NVIDIA GeForce integrated graphics solution to deliver the best in home computing experience, within an affordable price range. In addition, Fujitsu-Siemens recently announced the integration of the SystemTrack and DataProtect security solutions across several of the company's portable computer systems.

With the Amilo Desktop SI 3535, the computer systems maker has brought together the computing power of an Intel Pentium dual-core processor E2200 with an integrated NVIDIA GeForce 9200 graphics card, which comes with 256MB of graphics memory. In addition, the desktop Amilo SI 3535 provides users with a 320GB SATA 7200RPM hard drive solution, a Super-Multi DVD burner with double layer support, onboard Ethernet LAN with 10/100/1000 MBit/s and WLAN 802.11b/g/n. Also, the desktop has been designed to provide users with a wireless mini keyboard and a mouse, both of which are included in the system package.

Head of Product Operations Consumer Desktop EMEA at Fujitsu Siemens Computers, Norbert Strixner, said the following about the new release: "The PC is increasingly becoming an essential piece of consumer electronics so it's vital we deliver the performance customers demand in a package that fits the home environment. Thanks to the NVIDIA GeForce 9200, it's now possible to enjoy great features and power in a stylish, silent system."

Regarding pricing and availability, Fujitsu-Siemens announced that the Amilo SI 3535 would be available in the EMEA starting this December, with the price tag expected to settle around 499 Euros.

In addition to the recently introduced desktop, the systems vendor also announced the availability of the security solutions SystemTrack and DataProtect, both based on a new anti-theft solution that boasts technology developed by Intel and Computrace. This feature is slated to become available in the first quarter of 2009 on selected models from the company's LIFEBOOK and ESPRIMO Mobiles series of computer systems. According to Fujitsu Siemens Computers, the new technology is relatively easy to use, as the customer has the possibility of acquiring the SystemTrack and DataProtect for their FSC system, to then register it for support with the ComputraceCustomerCenter. After this, whenever a PC is reported stolen, the operations go roughly in the same way as with a credit card reported stolen.
