Following in the footsteps of most of its competitors, Fujitsu has recently updated its netbook offering with the introduction of the new Fujitsu M2010, a 10-inch netbook that is said to combine a luxurious design with the performance of Intel's latest Atom platform. Like most systems in its category, the new netbook from Fujitsu comes loaded with pretty much a standard package, but adds a few extras like the preloaded ArcSoft software. The new model follows the company's M1010 netbook, announced in October last year.

Mr. Lim Teck Sin, director of Product Marketing, highlights, “The huge popularity of the Fujitsu M1010 has spurred Fujitsu to deliver an even more wholesome experience in our netbook category. The new Fujitsu M2010 is designed to give users higher productivity and efficiency at work with greater visual enhancement and connectivity experience at play. In all, the Fujitsu M2010 upholds the true mobility assurance that Fujitsu is so committed to deliver and users so desire to have.”

The 10-inch netbook will be available in a range of four colors, including Diamond Black, Fiery Red, Ivory White and Salsa Purple. Measuring 25.8 by 18.9 cm, the system weighs slightly over 1kg, as with most netbooks, currently available on the market. Unlike the first model, the M1010, the new Fujitsu netbook offers support for Intel's N280 processor, running at 1.66GHz.

At the core of the new netbook there's an Intel 945GSE chipset that also offers support for Intel's successful Atom N270, a 160GB hard drive and 1GB of DDR2 memory. Designed to deliver the basics in computing performance, the M2010 is equipped with integrated Bluetooth v2.1, a 1.3MP webcam and a 10.1-inch WSVGA screen with back-light LED Glare technology.

Already announced worldwide, as the LOOX M netbook, the new M2010 will be available in the Asia-Pacific area later this year. The option for the N280 processor will be available later in June.
