Just in time for Vista

Every new SO that comes out of Microsoft produces some hysteria, but this is too much; I have the feeling that manufacturers are preparing to throw the "Vista compatible" logo on everything they can from PSUs to headsets. And that's too bad since there are a lot of people who don't digest the compatibility issue. However, every item sold is a good thing, it doesn't matter if your products sell well because you keep the Vista logo on them in order to do that.

Fujitsu-Siemens is well known for its lightweight stylized portables. And the Loox T-Series keeps the same trend that we've seen lately from the notebook producers. The laptop weights just 2.6 pounds and can operate for up to 4.8 hours when using the smallest Core Solo processor. Fujitsu has announced that the product will be available in the same day when Vista comes out meaning that they will stick with the "Vista compatible" plan. If you look at the specs, you'll see that the portable is not a powerful machine. In fact, don't even think you could watch a HD movie on it.

Available in 2 different (T50 and T70), the Loox T has a 1.2GHz Core Solo U1400 CPU, 1GB of RAM, a 80GB hard disk and a DVD burner that take care of the storage part. Also available is a 1.2GHz Celeron M 443, 512MB of RAM, a 60GB hard disk and a DVD burner configuration (and I think this won't run Aero since it uses integrated graphics and only 512MB of Ram). The T50U has an optional 1Seg TV tuner. As default, all models come with integrated Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and with Vista Home Premium SO. The pricing is yet unannounced.
