Fujitsu Computer Systems expanded its PRIMERGY server line with two new 4-way systems using Intel Xeon Processors MP. The PRIMERGY RX600 S2 rack server offers top 4-way performance with plenty of headroom for the future. The PRIMERGY TX600 S2 server offers the same basic architecture as the RX600 S2 and comes in both a tower and rack configuration. The PRIMERGY RX600 S2 and TX600 S2 servers combine 64-bit power and innovative memory availability features with legendary quality from Fujitsu. The servers deliver the power, flexibility, and reliability data centers in medium and large organizations
need for high-end database applications, as well as for clustered configurations and disaster-tolerant infrastructures.

"Fujitsu continues its relentless pursuit of reliable, flexible solutions that enable large enterprises to expand server capacity quickly," said Richard McCormack, senior vice president of product and solutions marketing for Fujitsu Computer Systems. "With 4-way performance and a comprehensive approach to ensuring memory and data reliability, the RX600 S2 and the TX600 S2 servers break new ground in ensuring our customers have access to the exact computing solution they need."

Both systems offer advanced memory capabilities including patrol scrubbing with ECC and Chipkill. The hot-plug function of the memory board allows on-the-fly memory swapping and upgrades. A hot spare DIMM on one of the two banks of one memory board can be used as hot spare memory that automatically replaces a defective bank. Memory mirroring can be used to provide higher system reliability by splitting the memory into two identical images, or memory RAID can be used to enable data reconstruction if a device should fail.

The PRIMERGY RX600 S2 4U rack server is ideal for either 32-bit or 64-bit operation and also includes four PCI Express slots for expandability and five hard drive hot plug bays. "Hot-plug everything" means fast and easy upgrades and repairs. Both servers are available now. The PRIMERGY RX600 S2 server is priced starting at $7,500. The PRIMERGY TX600 S2 server offers the same basic system architecture but with 10 hard drive hot plug bays. For maximum flexibility, the TX600 S2 comes as a tower server and can be easily converted to a 6U rack server with an optional kit. The PRIMERGY TX600 S2 server is priced starting at $7,300.
