News regarding Intel's upcoming LGA 1356 and LGA 2011 platforms have been scarce lately, but a recently released Fujitsu roadmap comes to reassure us once more that Intel plans to released the first Sandy Bridge-E processors and compatible motherboards in the forth quarter of 2011.

The platform is listed as Roomly (Intel code name for LGA 2011 and LGA 1356) and Fujitsu expects to ship boards based on the Patsburg chipset until the second quarter of 2014.

As for Fujitsu's motherboard, this will be called the D3128-B and, according to VR-Zone, it supports quad-channel DDR3 1333MHz memory over eight DIMM sockets, enabling users to install up to 256GB.

These will be accompanied by a wide assortment of PCI Express slots, including two x16 PCIe gen 3 slots, one PCIe x16 slot with four lanes of gen 3 bandwidth, an x16 PCI Express slot with four lanes of gen 2 bandwidth as well as an x8 slot with four lanes of gen 3 bandwidth and two PCI slots.

In addition, the board also packs six SATA 6Gbps ports, Intel Gigabit Ethernet, HD audio, 12 USB 2.0 ports and an internal USB 2.0 port.

The D3128-B industrial motherboard should be compatible with all Intel's LGA 2011 processors and supports CPUs with a maximum TDP of 150W.

As we detailed previously, Intel will release no less that four SKUs based on the Patsburg chipset and the controller will feature a simple PCH design that connects to the processor via a DMI 2 interface which delivers four lanes of PCI Express 2.0 worth of bandwidth.

In addition to the launch date of Patsburg, Fujitsu's roadmap also reveals the fact that the current P67 and Q67 motherboards that support Intel's LGA 1155 processors (code named Sandy Bridge) will be retired in the first quarter of 2013.
