Though the price isn't exactly painless, the product should sill become successful

Fujifilm, the most recent company to abandon the camera film business, has no intention of leaving the digital camera segment, and the X-E1 is clear proof of that.

Though it was introduced for the first time in September (two months ago), it is only now reaching European stores.

Unfortunately, the price is significantly higher than we expected. Rather than $500 /500 Euro, it is €989,00, while the UK price (shipments only from late October / early November 2012) is of £749.99, or £1149.95 when the 18-55 lens kit is included.

As for the US, sales will begin on November 12. Currently, pre-orders are being accepted for $1,399. We can only hope that availability will bring with it a lower tag.

We could go on a tangent about what the camera is made of and can or cannot do, but we've already done that, so those interested can go here for all the juicy details.
