It’s no secret the Fujifilm X30 compact camera will be unveiled soon enough, and in anticipation of the big event, the first images detailing the product have been leaked online.

So, behold the silver version of the upcoming X30 both back and front (via Digicame). The camera will sell for about 70,000YEN which translates into aapproximately $670 / €500. However, when the camera arrives in the US, it will surely boast a lower price tag.

As the X20 compact camera has already been discontinued, the advent of the X30 is quite imminent. The new camera will have an EVF with 2.36mp, x0.62 magnification and 100% coverage (the X20 took advantage of an optical VF).

Most of the specs of the device have been made available in the wild, so we can take the opportunity to remind you that the X30 will probably sport a 12-megapixel X-Trans II 2/3-inch type image sensor, which is what the X20 had.

But it's not really encouraging, the company decided to use the same sensor on this new shooter, but Fuji probably had its reasons to do so.

Anyway, the device will have a 3-inch tilting screen that is a bit larger than the 2.8-inch one of the X20. Kudos for Fuji here.

The mini camera will come with built-in Wi-Fi so users can easily share their photographs and a +/-3 exposure compensation dial.

Other than that, the snapper will provide a 35mm focal length equivalent of 28-112mm and maximum aperture of f/2-2.8, which is in the same vein as the X20.

Moreover, X30 will take advantage of two rings, one for zoom and one to be used to control exposure settings, a system similar to the XQ1.

The rumor mill also claims the X30 will bring about quite a chunky battery life, which will enable users to snap 400 shots on a single charge. And when the light goes out, owners can recharge the little fellow via a USB 2.0 port.

The camera will boast 6 function buttons and view mode buttons and a new film simulation “Classic Chrome.”

The designed was said to be quite different from that of the X20, and now you can check out this aspect for yourselves by taking a look at the images leaked in the wild.

For the time being, we expect the camera to be launched on August 26, but this doesn’t mean this date is set in stone. If not, we’ll probably see it at Photokina 2014.
