With all the fuss around the soon to be announced Fujifilm X-T1 weather-sealed interchangeable lens camera model there's also a bit of information regarding the X-Pro1 successor.

According to TheNewCamera, Fujifilm will wait a bit longer before introducing the X-Pro1's successor, mostly due to tomorrow's (January 28) launch of the X-T1. It's said that the company is looking to cover up development costs and also to register profit from the X-T1 sales before it announces the X-Pro2.

Moreover, Fujifilm is planning to introduce a new imaging sensor (X-Trans CMOS III?), probably with a higher megapixel count, as well as a new processor (EXR Processor III?) along with the new X-Pro2 model.

This means that the Fujifilm X-Pro2 will not see the light of day at least until Photokina 2014 in September. This also suggests that an official announcement is planned for the end of 2014 or early 2015. Stay tuned as we try to find out more on the matter.
