Back in January the rumor mill told us that Fuji had canceled all its plans for building the X-PRO1S camera and instead refocused all its efforts in the X-PRO2.

Then, a few months later, we were told the X-PRO2 would arrive with an APS-C sensor. Now, the latest information reported by Fuji Rumors is casting more light on what the camera will end up bringing to the table.

According to an anonymous source, Fuji will implement a 24MP APS-C sensor with the upcoming camera. The insider also had a bunch of other details to share, like the fact that the camera will arrive with a tilting LCD screen and built-in Wi-Fi.

We’re also given a date for when the camera might hit the stores. The sources mentions February 2015, but those familiar with how things work in the photo industry should know this is bound to change at any time.

There’s another question that needs to be answered, when will be camera be announced? Word on the street seems to pinpoint towards Photokina, as this is the most obvious answer. But that doesn't mean we couldn't see Fuji roll the camera out at CES 2015.

Now, as we wait for more rumors to arrive into the wild, let’s take a look at what we’ve found out about the camera so far.

One thing seems to be sure, the camera will hit the streets with an APS-C 24MP X-Trans sensor and all sources seem to be agreeing on this matter. The sensor will be non-organic and the camera will take advantage of Wi-Fi and a tilt screen.

Apart from that, info is still pretty scarce, but we expect more to appear as we advance towards Photokina. The X-PRO2 is expected to replace the mirrorless X-PRO1 camera. The device has been made available for the first time back in early 2012, so it is high time for Fuji to provide a replacement.

To compare, the X-PRO1 arrives with a 16.3-megapixel X-Trans CMOS sensor with built-in hybrid viewfinder that combines optical electronic elements.

The camera boasts a 3-inch LCD screen on the back and comes equipped with a wide host of buttons and dials, which is something that makes the camera unique and a feature popular with customers.

At the moment, the camera can be purchased with a discounted rate from Amazon, which is pretty good indication that the X-PRO 2 will be upon us soon enough.
