Fujifilm has launched a new series of high speed Pen Drives, which use USB 2.0.
Now Fujifilm widens its digital media accessories area. The new green translucent drives come in three models, each with different capacities, namely 256 MB, 512 MB and 1 GB. The pen drives can be connected directly to a PC, a laptop or a digital camera, rapidly transferring any type of documents, images or music files, from and to all compatible
electronic devices.

Finalized in 2001, USB 2.0 is a complete overhaul to the Universal Serial Bus input/output bus protocol, which allows much higher speeds than the older USB 1.1 standard did. USB 1.1 allowed a maximum transfer rate of 12Mbits/second. Hi-Speed USB 2.0 mode is capable of a much faster 480Mbits/second. The high speed pen drives are both durable and portable, and easy to deposit. What else can we expect from an USB drive?

The new Fujifilm USB sticks can be acquired for 43 USD for the 256 Mb model, for 70 USD for the 512 MB one and for 105 USD - the 1 GB model. There is no need to install drivers for the Windows Me, 2000, XP or Mac OS operating systems. But if you still use Windows 98 or 98SE you must download the needed drivers from the producer's website.

And if still 1 GB is not enough for your storing needs, we have good news, because Edge Tech just launched a high speed drive that uses USB 2.0 with a 8 GB capacity. And if the storing space in this case is enough, the price has the same size: 619 USD.

The Edge Tech drives are hot swappable and use the same fast transfer method as the Fujifilm ones, namely USB 2.0. They come in 4 GB versions for 265 USD, 2GB for 120 USD, 1 GB for 60 USD, 512 MB for 35 USD, 256 MB for 20 USD and 128 MB for 10 USD. Moreover, they come with the EasyBoot software application, for a better file management and security.
