The updated camera should arrive somewhere next month

A few days ago, it was revealed Fuji was planning towards a new version of its infamous X-T1 camera. Albeit launching it a short while ago, the device was proved to be suffering from some nasty issues, including an all-annoying light leak and annoying D-pads buttons.

The new model, which has been dubbed the X-T1b won’t come with any major modifications, but will bring to the table a new viewfinder.

But now we’re getting an update on the information we previously had, provided by FujiRumors. For starters, the XT1b name becomes obsolete and is changed into XT1P.

And here comes the interesting part, the new XT1P will arrive with a new viewfinder, but, according to sources familiar with the matter, it will also get a 4K update from the current 2.6K.

Don’t start jumping around for joy, this doesn’t mean the camera will have 4K video recording capabilities, not by a long shot. The X-T1P will still maintain the same “sub-par” video performance.

Furthermore, the release date for the new model has been set for July, the first week of July to be more precise.

So, we’re not far from seeing the new X-T1P arrive on the market and make everything better. In the meantime, Fuji blatantly continues to sell the X-T1 for the hefty price of $1,300 / €960.
