Fujifilm has recently announced the introduction of its most advanced compact digital camera to date, the FinePix F600EXR, which comes with a wide series of features including a 16MP sensor, a built-in GPS with an augmented reality app and a 15x wide-angle optical zoom lens now.

The FinePix F600 EXR builds on the specifications of the previous F550 EXR, which means that it gets the same half inch back side illuminated 16MP sensor with a maximum ISO speed of 12,800, as well as a series of new features meant to make the camera even easier to use.

This includes a new Motion Detection capability, that automatically detects if the subject is moving when low light conditions are detected.

If this is the case, the camera deploys Motion Detection and a higher ISO to ensure the subject is captured with reduced blur.

Otherwise, if no subject movement is identified, the FinePix F600 EXR will automatically keep the ISO lower and use image stabilization for noise reduction.

Consumers who are used to having more control over the pictures they take, will be also be glad to know that Fujifilms's F600 EXR, also includes support for the P, A, S, M exposure modes as well as a series of special Scene modes.

The other major feature introduced by Fujifilm in its latest creation is the special Landmark Navigator mode, which makes use of the built-in GPU to display the kind of information one would get from the augmented reality apps found on modern smartphoens.

This automatically locates places of interest from its on-board database of around one million locations before displaying these points on the camera's LCD, showing their relative position, distance from your current spot and type of location depending on a range of category icons.

Other features include full HD 1080p movie capture with stereo sound, a three-inch rear LCD with 460,000 dots, Raw file format shooting, and a 15x wide-angle optical zoom lens, to name just a few.

Fujifilm hasn't provided any information regarding the release date or the pricing of the FinePix F600EXR.
