Although Verizon is already selling a fuchsia pink colored BlackBerry Curve 3G since mid-October 2010, RIM has decided to make it an official flavor of the device and called it just that, “Fuchsia Pink”. The smartphone is expected to be available from Carphone Warehouse starting February 8th, just in time for Valentine's Day.

The pink 3G BlackBerry Curve has the same features as the original black version, although it will certainly lack all those Verizon-specific services such as: VZ Navigator, Visual Voice Mail, V CAST Music w/Rhapsody and V CAST Video on Demand.

Fuchsia Pink Curve 3G comes with a 2.46-inch TFT LCD display with 65k colors support, 240x320 pixels resolution and touch-sensitive optical trackpad.

The smartphone runs on the Blackberry 5 platform, but it is upgradable to Blackberry OS 6. It sports a low-budget 2.0-megapixel camera with 5x digital zoom and video capture capabilities.

Just like the original model, Fuchsia Pink measures 109 x 60 x 13.9 mm and weighs 104g (including battery).

Other key features of the smartphone include: Wi–Fi-ready (802.11 b/g) connectivity, GPS with A-GPS support, 512MB Flash Memory, 512MB RAM memory, microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB), Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP support, full QWERTY keyboard, 3.5 mm audio jack.

The phone's 1150 mAh Li-Ion battery is rated by the carrier for up to 4 hours and 30 minutes of talk time or 252 hours of standby.

Those who wish to pick up the device can do it for free with a £20 per month contract or simply by paying £199.95 ($323) upfront on a Pay As You Go service.

This seems to be a better deal than Verizon's offering, which is selling its own branded pink Blackberry Curve 3G for 29.99$ with a 2-year contract and 100$ online discount or for the full retail price of 364,99$.
