The McRib is back on McDonald's menus in the US and a lot of people have missed it. Just a few weeks until the awaited return, a photo of frozen McRibs has surfaced on Reddit, and now everyone's disappointed.

I guess that some people believed that a diner chain would use fresh meat, acquired locally, to supply their large demand for burgers made in minutes.

They must have been disappointed to see that the McRib is simply meat placed in a shape that mimics that of ribs.

“Just like a burger patty is formed to be round and flat, we form the iconic McRib in the shape of traditional ribs. We then flash freeze the patty to seal in flavor and freshness, just like you freeze meat in your own freezer, before going to our restaurants,” a McDonald's spokesperson tells ABC News.

After the patty is done, it is topped with tangy barbecue sauce and slivered onions and sliced pickles.

The sauce and spices give the recipe its unique taste, which has gathered a cult following.
