If your ideal of portability was Apple's MacBook Air, you're wrong, because Frontier has just unveiled yet another MacBook Air killer. The lightweight FRNL sub-notebook is not just elegant, but it's one of the die-hard notebooks that can resist to water spills and huge pressure.

The FRNL weighs just 1.249kg and is slightly larger than Apple's MacBook Air - 296 x 308 x 209 as compared to Air's 227x194x325mm. It's only 12.5 mm tall in its thinnest point, but it can deliver what the MacBook Air cannot even dream about.

The Frontier FRNL can perform better stunts than getting stuffed inside a Manila envelope, such as surviving the most incredible water / coffee spills. And that's not because it's a coffee addict, but rather because it comes with a waterproof keyboard, that holds the liquid away from its delicate circuitry.

Moreover, its sleek case can resist up to 120kg of pressure without cracking, bending or deforming the computer's internals. This means that there is no problem if you accidentally sit on it, unless you weigh more than the specified 120 kilograms. If you're really clumsy and use to drop things off your hands, then you'll really love the Frontier FRNL sub-notebook, because it can stand a 76 cm fall without taking any damage. Shortly put, it's a survivor.

The truly mobile notebook PC is thinner than the MacBook Air, but infinitely more rugged. However, when it comes to delivering performance, it's a little slower than its opponent. The FNRL is powered by an Intel A110 CPU running at only 800Mhz and comes with 1 GB of system RAM. The 12.1-inch LED backlit LCD can deliver SXGA resolutions at a maximum 1280 ? 1024.

Other goodies included into the die-hard notebook are an 80 GB conventional HDD, and Wi-Fi connectivity in a, b, and g flavors. It also comes with Ethernet networking, a built-in modem, a PCMCIA card slot, a CF/SD card reader, 3 USB ports, VGA out, and audio in and out.
