14 DAY TRIAL // Next year, Britney Spears will be starting a much mediated 2-year residency at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas. While she’s doing vocal and choreography coaching every day, as per her manager, some fans are still wondering whether she will really be singing live.
Britney, you see, is anything but an outstanding live vocalist. Branded a pop star and an entertainer from the start, her image was focused just as much on dancing as it was on her music, but her live shows were always about showing people a good time and not so much about the actual music.
In 2001, Britney did an HBO live performance for her Dream Within a Dream Tour at the MGM Grand. Financially, it was a success.
The video above is of what was heard in Britney’s microphone. It’s getting traction online again in anticipation of her new Vegas residency, with many saying that this is exactly what fans should expect if they buy tickets for the shows.
Of course, it will all be wrapped up in a very nice package and they will only hear Britney’s pre-recorded vocals, not a monstrosity like the one above.
“I'm definitely going to be singing live. I always sing live. It doesn't sound so great all the time, but I do my best,” Britney said a few days ago, when the topic came up.
