14 DAY TRIAL // Jon Hamm may be one of the most popular actors we have today, but he too had to get started somewhere. A video from his past has surfaced online just now (and gone viral), and it’s keeping fans entertained because it’s a classic case of “the past comes back to haunt you.”
TV shows are a good venue to get yourself noticed and, when scripted programming is not available, reality shows are the second best choice. Back in the ‘90s, dating shows were all the rage, so here we have a very young Hamm trying to impress a lady into convincing her to pick him for a first date.
The show was called The Big Date and was hosted by Mark Walberg. Jon was one of the three guys who appeared on this particular episode, and they all had to convince the woman to go through to the next stage.
They told her what they’d do for a first date and, of the three, Hamm is perhaps the one most cheered by the audience. However, he doesn’t go through because he didn’t even shake the woman’s hand when he came in, which was a major no-no for her.
That said, the video is hilarious and not just because it brings us the knowledge that Jon Hamm, the hot star from “Mad Men,” did a dating show when he was younger. There’s so much to gape and be amazed at here: the hair, the clothes, the makeup! Enjoy.
