The development team at From Software in charge of Bloodborne says that it is working as hard as it can in order to launch the recently revealed title as quickly as possible once 2015 comes around, while also keeping the quality of the experience as high as possible.

Jun Yoshino, who is a producer working on the title, tells DigitalSpy during a recent event that “We're really working flat out to get this game out for early 2015.”

The company says that the title is already playable inside the studio and that they will soon also allow a number of players to engage with it in order to see how they like the core mechanics and the world.

Yoshino adds, “We're going to be there at all upcoming major game shows like gamescom, where we'll have our first hands-on demo on pods on the showfloor. There we can gauge first hand the reaction to the game.”

Bloodborne started life under the codename Project Beast and was only officially revealed during E3 2014, when the development team and Sony showed a video presentation about it.

Hidetaka Miyazaki, the director of both Demon's Souls and Dark Souls, is the leader of the team at From Software working on the experience, and those who have seen the title in action say that it includes plenty of mechanics from both previous titles.

The action is set in an ancient city which has long been rumored to house a powerful cure that many pilgrims have sought out in order to get their health back.

The main character arrives just as a powerful pathogen manages to turn much of the population into crazed enemies, and he needs to kill in order to survive long enough to secure the famous cure.

The core mechanics of Bloodborne are those of an action role-playing title played from a third-person perspective.

The combat system is designed to be more violent and graphic than that of Dark Souls, and From Software says that it wants gamers to have more options when they meet enemies face to face.

The studio is using the move to next-gen console tech to drastically improve the graphics of the video game and to show off the beauty of the dark landscape and the effects that the madness of the inhabitants has on it.

Bloodborne will be launched exclusively on the PlayStation 4 home console from Sony.
