Nvidia became known as a world class graphics chips designer and manufacturer, but its computer chipset business is not too far behind either. Apart from the thoroughly disappointing nForce 1 chipset, which failed to deliver the promised performance for quite a spicy price, all nForce chipsets made by Nvidia, for both AMD and Intel processors, were always on the top of performance charts. Leaving behind even chipsets made by processor manufacturers like Intel, and newer AMD, the nForce chipsets, and by extension the motherboards built around them became hugely
popular.

A new generation of Nvidia chipsets will soon become available, this time only for Intel processors, so AMD fans will have to wait a little bit longer for their compatible Nvidia branded chips. The Nvidia MPC73 family of chips is officially set to be launched on the 25th of September and the manufacturing company hopes that its offering of no less than five chipsets will rumble all over Intel's integrated graphics and entry level offers. The list of MCP73 family of chipsets comes with both high end and entry level offerings, including integrated graphics solutions like the GeForce 7150 630i IGP, GeForce 7050 630i IGP, the GeForce 7050 620i IGP and the GeForce 7050 610i IGP, the shorthand for integrated graphics processor.

The 630i chipset will support both the latest and fastest Intel frontside bus speed of 1333MHz and the lower 1066MHz one that is designed for entry level processors. Memory support among the MCP73 family of chips will include DDR2 memory modules running at either a clock frequency of 667MHz or 800MHz. The dual channel memory configuration will not be supported, users having to make do with single channel memories. It looks as if Nvidia is not following its long established tradition of releasing entry and middle level products during the fall and keeping higher end offerings for the spring, as there are rumors that the C72 and C73 lines of chips will be released just in time for the holiday shopping spree.
