Ubisoft's quirky From Dust title is out today for the Xbox 360, via the Xbox Live Arcade service, but has been delayed on the PC platform, with the French company announcing that the game will now be deployed next month.

From Dust is set to be one of the most original titles to appear in recent months, with the downloadable game allowing players to guide a civilization by sheltering them from various dangers and molding the environment around them.

The game was announced last year, and is available for download today on the Xbox 360 platform, as part of the Xbox Live Summer of Arcade promotion, ran by Microsoft on the console's Xbox Live Arcade service.

From Dust was also confirmed earlier this month for a release today on the PC platform, via Valve's Steam digital distribution service.

Sadly, this won't happen, as the French company told Joystiq that, while From Dust is now available on the Xbox 360, it won't reach the PC until Wednesday, August 17, three weeks from now.

No details about the delay were offered, but it's not that big of a push, so plenty of gamers will see it as time to brush up on the mechanics by checking out the Xbox 360 version first.

In case you still don't know much about From Dust, check out its official description below.

"Discover a unique Modern God game in which nature is the star. “From Dust” is the latest original concept by Eric Chahi, visionary creator of “Another World.” Behold the beauty of a primitive world pulsing with life and face the might of nature. Beware the danger of a world that is constantly changing under your command."

"Control the destiny of a tribe struggling to survive and help it recover its ancestors’ lost powers. Immerse yourself in a world as exotically beautiful as it is dangerous. A universe where nature reclaims what is hers and you are your people’s only chance of survival."
