Ubisoft's upcoming From Dust title will be released for the PC platform through Valve's Steam digital distribution service, at the same time as on the Xbox 360 console, for which it was confirmed quite some time ago.

Ubisoft has been investing in lots of quirky projects recently, releasing Child of Eden for the Xbox 360, and is now getting ready to debut From Dust, a new type of simulator from the mind of Eric Chahi, the creator of Another World.

The game was showcased last year, and was confirmed last month to be part of Microsoft's special Xbox Live Summer of Arcade promotion, which kicks off this month for the Xbox 360 console.

Now, it seems that Ubisoft will be releasing From Dust at the same time on the PC platform, as it has announced, via Shacknews, that users of Valve's Steam digital distribution network will be able to get it on July 27, the same day as Xbox 360 users, for the same price, $14.99.

No word yet on when PlayStation 3 users can expect From Dust to be launched, but it's pretty sure that it will be heading to the Sony console later this year, just like Beyond Good & Evil HD, which appeared first on the Xbox 360 before appearing a few weeks ago on the PS3.

In case you're not familiar with From Dust, check out the game's official description below, via Ubisoft.

"Discover a unique Modern God game in which nature is the star. “From Dust” is the latest original concept by Eric Chahi, visionary creator of “Another World.” Behold the beauty of a primitive world pulsing with life and face the might of nature. Beware the danger of a world that is constantly changing under your command."

"Control the destiny of a tribe struggling to survive and help it recover its ancestors’ lost powers. Immerse yourself in a world as exotically beautiful as it is dangerous. A universe where nature reclaims what is hers and you are your people’s only chance of survival."
