Facebook goes aloud with the new application for Android devices “Friends Aloud.” The software acts like “News Radio” that broadcasts friends’ news directly to your device, and then allows you to dictate an answer without having to use the phone’s keyboard.
In addition, those who decide to give “Friends Aloud” a try will be able to access, listen to, and post status updates and comments, by simply using their voice.
Created by VoiZapp Inc., this is one of the first Android applications that promise to bring optimized top-notch reading aloud technology to
Facebook.
In addition, the application and has been especially developed to take advantage of Android's built-in automated speech recognition capabilities.
With “Friends Aloud,” users can read aloud their latest Facebook news feed posts and their associated comments or dictate status updates, comments, and “like” friends' posts.
More importantly, the application enables users to listen to their friends’ postings on Facebook even while driving, walking, or when they’re in a meeting.
According to the
developer, the application also allows users to mute posts from friends or “liked pages” that they prefer to skip. The number of read comments can also be limited to certain numbers.
