Just as questionable as the others, only ‘competitively priced’

JailbreakiPhone4S.com is the new iOS 5 jailbreak solution on the block being advertised as the best solution to hack your Apple device. The offer sounds questionable, much like those before it.

Touted as the leading iPhone 4S jailbreak solution with over a million downloads since launch, “The latest application allows the ability to jailbreak and unlock the latest ios 5.0.1 installed on the iPhone 3Gs, 4 and iPhone 4S,” say the people behind jailbreakiphone4s.com.

I have to say they're getting better by the day. The web site looks clean and quite attractive, and if sending out a press release doesn’t cut it, nothing will:

“Many new and exciting features that are limited on the standard factory iPhone are enabled by using the iPhone unlock/jailbreak software offered here,” reads their announcement. “Just a few include the use of any network provider, free GPS navigation applications, the ability to customise icons, thousands of wallpapers and much more.”

“The software [notice how they don't even have a fixed name for it] is competitively priced at just $19.99. This includes free updates for the duration of the ownership of the iphone as to ensure that one will never have to pay to unlock and jailbreak the iPhone again,” says the site (granted, most others sell their 'stuff' for $24.99 or more).

They say the jailbreaking and unlocking process is completely reversible and that Apple will never find any evidence that the iPhone has been tampered with, should you need to send it in for repairs or something.

As I reported in the past, jailbreak & unlock offers such as this one hardly ever end up with customers being satisfied. You can skim through the comments over at the related articles below for evidence of that, or you can simply search Google for similar stories.

That’s not to say I’m labeling jailbreakiphone4s.com as an illegitimate business. For all I know, they really could have a couple of genius hackers up their sleeve who’ve beaten the iPhone Dev Team to the race of jail-breaking Apple’s iPhone 4S.

All I’m saying is be careful! Trustworthy jailbreaks are always provided free of charge, and those who code them will never try to shove them down your throat like these guys do.

It just occurred to me - you know what would really trick people into buying this stuff? Offering a free trial / demo download. Let that be a preemptive warning to you all.
