Impressive set of pictures for Google's mapping tools

Google's mapping solutions, Google Earth and Google Maps, received an impressive pack of new and updated imagery that is able to show details from several locations in the world. In a blog post published a few days ago, Matt Manolides, GIS Specialist, revealed that multiple areas of the United States as well as South America, France, Italy and Germany received new photos while Europe, Africa, Asia and Oceania was only improved with better photos. For example, Italy was one of the lucky countries that received new pictures and more specifically, Google implemented 2.5m imagery for the entire nation.

According to the same blog post, the United Stated received the biggest amount of new imagery as it follows: State of Vermont, State of Nevada, State of Colorado, Chenango County (NY), Oswego County (NY), Lancaster (PA), Montgomery County (MD), Prince George's County (MD), Charleston (WV), Frankfort (KY), Leon County (FL), Volusia County (FL), Orlando (FL), Melbourne (FL), Ridgeland (MS), Tucson (AZ), Phoenix (AZ), Pierce County (WA), Walworth County (WI), Waukesha County (WI), Milwaukee (WI), Washington County (WI), Ozaukee County (WI), Puerto Rico & US Virgin Islands.

Earlier this day, the Mountain View company proudly announced the expansion of the Street View function into more US cities. As you might have heard, Street View is a special Google Maps features that offers street-level panoramas from numerous US locations.

The mapping tools were quite important in the recent period for the folks working at the Googleplex. Since Google quietly rolled out the beta version of Google Earth, it also introduced numerous functions as well as updates for the two solutions every once in a while. Today's update confirms this interesting campaign started by the Mountain View company that seems to be more and more focused on the mapping solutions as they are able to bring a considerable amount of users to the firm.
