Orange Business Services has acquired Atheos, a French IT security firm founded in 2002. The two companies' cyber security expertise will be combined into Orange CyberDefense.

By acquiring Atheos, which specializes in identity and security management, Orange enhances its managed and integrated security solutions with two key factors: access control and data loss prevention policies, and proactive cyber defense.

Proactive cyber defense, which is considered by Orange a key requirement in the corporate environment, is achieved through the analysis of “low-noise” attack signals, identification of security breaches and vulnerabilities, and on-site crisis management.

“We have consistently recorded strong growth since our incorporation in 2002. By joining Orange Business Services, we will benefit from its unique expertise of critical infrastructure to take us to the next level,” said Michel Van Den Berghe, general manager and founder of Atheos.

“Orange CyberDefense offers a credible response to the security requirements of large companies and government agencies.”
