Hackers from the Moroccan Ghosts collective have breached and defaced the website of France’s renowned Euromillions lottery (euromillions.fr).

According to French publications, the hackers altered the main page to host a quote from the Koran in which games of chance are called the “work of the devil.”

Representatives of Francaise des Jeux – the company that runs the lottery – told the BBC that other games were not affected by the incident.

At the time of writing, visitors of the Euromillions website were being redirecting to Francaise des Jeux's official site.

The Moroccan Ghosts are a group of hackers founded in 2012. Their objectives are not only to defend their country and its king, but also to militate for territorial unity.

If you’re interested in learning more about the group, you can check out the interview we had with King Neco, one of the hackers, back in June.
