The Champions League Final has generated a rather exaggerate interest among the French fans in Paris. The clash between Barcelona and Arsenal, that will take place on Stade de France, proved to be a too greater challenge for the Frenchmen yesterday.
As they were desperately trying to either watch the match live or sell the tickets at a higher price, two of them tried to get the Paris` mayor's tickets at gunpoint.
The two French robbers went inside the council building and asked to see the mayor. When told that he was not in the building, they showed their guns, but still, everyone thought it was a joke. They soon realized, however, that it was a serious situation and were forced to lie down. "We want tickets to the Champions League final", said the robbers, after threatening to start shooting if their demands had not been satisfied.
After some time, the police made their appearance and managed to capture the two thieves. " At first everyone thought it was a joke. The council offices were closed. And then, quite quickly, everyone realized it wasn't a joke", said one of the deputies soon after they were all safe.
The police gave no statement concerning the incident. "Why the mayor?", you're asking yourselves? Well, because he is traditionally granted with tickets before these kind of sporting events. If they were to get them and sell the tickets afterwards, the robbers would have gained approximately 2000 euros, the price of a ticket on the black market.
