The Da Vinci Code leading actress Audrey Tautou is already sick of being famous. The French star of the novel based movie is one very shy person and has tried so far to avoid all the media exposure fame brings to one's life. Her brilliant debut The Fantastic Destiny of Amelie Poulain movie was a huge success in France.
The French actress claims she hates the limelight and would be happier without her new star status. At only 27 years, Tautou is already fed up with the paparazzi and tabloid attention she gets and stated: "I used to think I would retire from films at 40, then it was 30. Maybe I would like to do something more private and discreet with my life."
"I know I'm not the best actress in the world and not the worst but I think that maybe I'd be happier doing something that doesn't leave me so exposed."
Audrey also confessed she took up acting as a "lazy activity":
"For me, acting was a bit of a lazy activity. I never said I wanted to be an actress. I couldn't even admit to myself that it's what I wanted to do as a profession, but I gave myself one year and if, at the end of that time, I hadn't done what I wanted, I would do something else."
