Developed by realtech VR, No Gravity is a free 3D space shooter for owners of a Macintosh running Mac OS X 10.4 or Mac OS X10.3.9 with OpenAL installed. The game boasts fair 3D graphics and visual effects, and a catchy score. It is similar to Wing Commander in many ways, but simpler.

“No Gravity is a fantastic and futuristic universe made of five intergalactic worlds,” says the developer of the game. “An arcade type game with great playability, where it is easy to plunge into space battles against spacefighters, space stations and more!”

In each mission, you have to accomplish objectives like shooting and destroying enemy ships or bases, escorting ships, clearing mine fields... that sort of thing. There's a training mode you can enter to familiarize yourself with the concepts of this game, and the controls. Speaking of which, the control layout is pretty strange by default (at least, so I thought) but you can customize it. Also worth noting is that the mouse sensitivity makes it a bit difficult to control your ship at first.

So, you get to choose one of three ships, you get a brief description of the objectives ahead of you and you embark on your mission. In some situations, you will be assigned some wingmen, which you'll be able to control by giving them orders like attack, retreat and protect base. Missions are composed of different sectors with multiple objectives. At the end of each episode (one episode is ten missions), there is a large base station to destroy – boss battle. You finish the game by completing all five available episodes.

No Gravity is a free game for Mac owners running Mac OS X 10.4 or Mac OS X 10.3.9 (with OpenAL installed). You may download the game here. Be sure to tell us how you liked it.
