FreeNAS, a free implementation of a minimal FreeBSD distribution, has just reached version 8.2.0 Beta 3.

FreeNAS 8.2.0 Beta 3 has introduced a large number of functional changes in comparison with the 8.0.x branch.

Highlights of FreeNAS 8.2.0 Beta 3:

· A major refactoring of the plugin structure was implemented; · Target reload is now supported for adding and removing (but not changing) targets on the fly. The Logical Unit Controller is used for this, reload will not function if the LUC is not enabled.; · The Samba package was upgraded to version 3.6.4 in order to address the security issues in 3.6.3; · A JavaScript error that affected IE8 was fixed;
