FreeBSD 9.2 RC4, an operating system for x86, ARM, IA-64, PowerPC, PC-98, and UltraSPARC architectures, has been released and it's now available for testing.

The FreeBSD 9.2 branch has already gone through a few development versions, and a few important features have been implemented.

As the name suggests, this is the fourth development release and a final version is imminent. As it stands right now, the tribute boot loader logo is now used as the default logo, a filesystem bug has been removed, a NFS deadlock has been fixed, just to name a few fixes.

The official changelog comes with a complete list of fixes and modifications.

Remember that this is a development release and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended to be used for testing purposes only.
