FreeBSD 8.4 Beta 1 Is Available for Testing
This should be the only beta release in the current release cycle
FreeBSD, an operating system for x86, ARM, IA-64, PowerPC, PC-98 and UltraSPARC architectures, is now at version 8.4 Beta 1.The developers of FreeBSD are sure that the current version of the operating system is mature enough and it won’t need more than one Beta version for the release cycle.
Users were also warned that cvsup and CVS are both deprecated, and while
upgrades using CVS or cvsup may work for now, they will not be supported for
security updates through the life of 8.4.
