Electronic Arts has confirmed that it's planning to release free-to-play versions of all its major franchises in the future, citing the success of titles like Battlefield Play4Free or FIFA World.

EA is banking big on the changing PC market and has released quite a few experimental games for the platform, including many free-to-play titles.

This trend won't stop, as EA Chief Operating Officer Peter Moore confirmed to Engadget that players are thrilled to interact with franchises like Battlefield or FIFA without paying anything upfront.

What's more, this free-to-play approach will be applied to "every major franchise" EA has, meaning fans are going to have to get used to seeing regular, full-priced games, but also free-to-play iterations or mobile experiences.

This is already happening with series like Dragon Age, as a new mobile free-to-play title called Heroes of Dragon Age is coming to smartphones and tablets.
